Mission
Our Mission
Our lab’s mission is to improve human health by understanding how immune cell function is affected by previous exposures and studying how these context-dependent functions relate to human infectious diseases.
Core Values
Humility: We strive to be humble scientists and humble people. We acknowledge the limits of our knowledge and rely on one another’s expertise and experience, valuing a diversity of opinions and perspectives. Science is a team sport, and we need others to help us see our blind spots. Together, we work for the common good, not for personal glory.
People First: Nothing matters more than people. In our lab we see, know, and celebrate one another for who we are as unique individuals on our unique journeys. We pursue holistic health, and we value rest. We believe that a team of healthy people who are seen and celebrated can work together to take on massive challenges.
Responsibility: The opportunity to perform biomedical research is a privilege. We have been entrusted with taxpayer dollars to do good science, so we use that funding in a diligent and responsible manner. We are committed to working hard. We also embrace our role within the community as role models and leaders.
